From frozen flight lines to draughty dispersal huts, the A-26 Wool Squadron Cap is built for winter duty.
Conceived as the on-base companion to the Papa’s infamous Shinki Cap, the A-26 trades leather for beautifully warm 100% Japanese wool flannel, giving the familiar A-3 silhouette an altogether different character.
The real story, however, is in the squadron detailing. Hand-cut wool felt numerals and Papa lightning bolts recall the improvised unit insignia of wartime aircrews — individual touches that transformed standard issue into something belonging to the squadron.
Crafted in Japan with an easy, comfortable A-3 inspired fit, the A-26 is warm without being cumbersome and packed with the character of a cap that might have been knocked together somewhere behind the flight line.
