The coat was supplied to Civil Conservation Coaps in the 1930’s. During the Great Depression, to give job training for unemployed men under 25 years old, this group was formed. And, they fulfilled public work projectsand nature maintenance projects. Like this coat is called as “Mackinaw Coat” which came from the area name, Mackinaw in Michigan. U.S. Army had kept taking Olive-colored Mackinaw Coat made out of heavy weight wool blanket although, this coat which was developed in 1935 was designed with navy color. Luxury detail from front baby to back is for avoiding shoulder’s pressure caused by carrying and protection from cold.
