Description
Buzz Rickson’s GOLD TIGER PATTERN JACKET
In the 1960s, the U.S. Forces Japan Procurement Headquarters chose to procure camouflage uniforms from Japan. This was due to the country’s combination of advanced printing technology, rapid production, and cost-effectiveness. The production of tiger stripes was left to the discretion of factories throughout Japan, resulting in countless variations of the tiger stripe pattern. While most early tiger stripes were made in Japan, fabric was sent to Okinawa for sewing, and during the latter stages of the Vietnam War, they were also produced in Thailand and Vietnam.
