Buzz Rickson’s SHIRT, UTILITY, COTTON SAGE GREEN

This utility shirt, made from cotton satin, was adopted by the US Air Force in the mid-1950s. The color is sage green, the same as the flight jackets adopted during that period. It features relatively large flap pockets on both chests, and a distinctive hidden button closure on the front to prevent snagging during work. The item and specifications are stamped on the inside of the left front facing for each individual shirt.
