A special edition of Tailor Toyo that brings back the rare souvenir jacket of the early 1950s to the present day.
The blue acetate is drawn with a phoenix based on white colored threads, and a pattern called phoenix in Europe and the United States. The surrounding pine trees and flowers are also delicately depicted, but the embroidery on the tail of the phoenix is particularly excellent, and the pattern expressed by changing the direction of the needle legs in a complicated manner has different facial expressions depending on the viewing angle, and the eyes. Impress the person who made it. It is a work of art in which the work of craftsmen can be seen in each stitch of embroidery without allowing any compromise.
On the other hand, the reversible side is a tiger pattern drawn by printing instead of embroidery. Rather than printing with modern machines, it is a hand-printing process in which plates are printed one by one and printed by hand, which takes unimaginable time and effort. Among the many Sukajans, the number of hand-printed works is very small, and in the vintage market, they are traded at an unbelievable amount. It is a gem suitable for the name of “Minatosho”, the creator of Sukajan.
“KOSHO & CO.” SPECIAL EDITION
This special edition reproduces the finest details of the Tailor Toyo collection. In addition to the finely drawn design by horizontal swing embroidery, the acetate fabric is adjusted to finish it as good as vintage, and the wool ribs are knitted one by one using an old-fashioned flat knitting machine. For reversible fasteners, we restarted the fastening machine more than 50 years ago and reproduced the same hand-bent fasteners as at that time. Using the label of Kosho Shokai, the predecessor of Tailor Toyo, the finish is reminiscent of the heyday of vintage Sukajan.
