Purrfect Space Slow Boat Blue

Purrfect Space is a collection of many ideas compacted into one insanely beautiful design. Looking at 1980s Hello Kitty designs specifically a tartan check with Kitty floating around. It felt like a mix of ukiyoe (Japanese traditional block print) and contemporary design. Included in the design is beach balls, borrowed and reinterpreted from an actual 1800s bandanna. Beach balls seem natural as what else would cats in space be doing with their time?

Dedicated to interesting colors we have employed an ample amount of Quantum Color Theory to this bandanna. Thinking about what we had created with the 448c I decided on focusing on colors that have already been done, especially with those that have been used at or around the neck area. I started studying vintage neckties, specifically Hermes… they have great color palettes. Eventually I found a nice combination of green and blue and it was the perfect mix. Combined with the tartan check it felt a bit soccer hooligan and a little cute. Both colors carry a aesthetic fragrance of fun and spectacle with a dash of cat fur covered sweatpants.
