Description
Tailor TOYO Late 1950s Style Acetate Souvenir Jacket “EAGLE & DRAGON” × “HAWAII MAP”
This is what Tailor Toyo says about the jacket:
“In the 1950s, Kosho, the predecessor of Tailor Toyo, received an order from the U.S. military to produce Japan jackets to sell at the PX (base shop) in Hawaii. It depicts an eagle and a dragon glaring at each other across Mt. Fuji spectacularly.
The reversible side has a rare map-design having not only the Hawaiian Islands but also palm trees and tropical flowers, ukuleles in one. In addition, the two-line letter “Aloha Hawaii” seen on both sides of the jacket is rare.”
