When the cast and crew of Apocalypse Now arrived in the Philippines in early 1976 to begin work on the film, little did they know that they would be embarking on a production that would go down as one of the longest in cinematic history. Initially set to be a five-month shoot in the Philippines starting in March 1976, a series of problems lengthened the initial shoot to over a year with additional shooting rolling over into 1978 and ’79! When the shooting finally wrapped crew members were presented with t shirts humorously referencing the longevity and arduousness of the shoot.
