Description
Made in Japan Down jacket,
Cotton outershell
The outer shell is made of cotton, not nylon or ripstop.
Rayon is used for the rayon fabric on the inside.
The most distinctive symbol of 1930s detail is the patterned elastic rubber on the backside.
Used only in the very few 1940s, this ribbed pattern is for non-slip applications. It is used for CCC jackets of A-1 style jackets in the 1930s, and is also used for mittens (gloves) in the same age.
This specification seems to disappear after World War II, and is loved by old outdoor wear fans as one of the idyllic yet stylish details.
